Timbit tournament info

2015-01-24

Please see important info about the Timbits tournament.

Each team will play two games. Following the second game rather than receive your medals on the ice surface we ask the teams to come up to the mezzanine level photo booth behind section 16 where you will be presented with your medals and have a team photo taken.

Due to limited space in the bench area, we are limiting the number of assistant coaches allowed on the bench with the team (some teams listed as many as 7 assistant coaches) There will be 3 passes given to each team (1 coach, 2 Assistant Coaches).

Also please remind parents that there can be as many as 18 teams sharing 4 locker rooms at one time, therefore each player will be permitted one adult chaperone into the locker room, the parent will receive a locker room pass that they will need to show to one of our volunteers before entering the locker room area. We realize this is a family event and we encourage the entire family to come and watch their Timbit play, although if one parent is bringing all of their children they should make arrangements with another parent on the team to watch their kids upstairs while they take their player to the locker room to get ready. This will ensure that we don’t have any extra bodies in the locker room area adding to the confusion.

Please make arrangements for your team to meet upstairs on the mezzanine level to hand out the locker room and coach passes. The manager or coach will have to pick up the registration package when they arrive and distribute the passes to the parents and coaches.

Please remind parents to label any clothing/equipment items, so that we can do our best to return any lost and found items.

Again, a reminder to reserve your Wildcat Game tickets Saturday is the Novice game and Sunday is the IP game, you must purchase tickets to the game in order to participate in the parade of champions. During the parade of Champions (BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD PERIOD) all the teams are invited to the ice surface sporting their timbit jerseys and tournament metals as well as a HELMET, children can wear sneakers or boots on the ice no other equipment is required (an announcement will be made when there are 8 minutes left in the second period for the teams to make their way to the agrena, you will head to the Convention Centre side of the coliseum go down the stairs and volunteers will direct you on how to line your team up). We ask only the coaches accompany the children, parents will have a much better view from the stands, anyone on the ice must wear helmets.

Thank you all for all you do for the children of Southeastern NB, tournaments can be hectic I know but the smiles on the children’s faces when they hop on the ice is worth all of the hours you spend practicing with them. See you all in two weeks!
